Pastor Michele

Pastor Michele Brigham - Congregational Church of Almaden Valley, UCC - San Jose, CA, USA

The Rev. Dr. Ann Michele Rogers Brigham, Pastor

I am delighted to be the minister to the people of the Congregational Church of Almaden Valley, United Church of Christ (CCAVUCC). I began my service on December 1, 2012.

Learn more about our Pastor.

Confirmation Class

Youth who are 8th grade and older are invited to participate in Confirmation Class. We use the book My Confirmation , a UCC publication, that is a great guide/resource book for study.

Confirmation is for youth who have been baptized or desire to be baptized. It is a time to make an "adult" decision about church membership and to help youth articulate their growing Christian identity.

Please speak to the pastor if you are interested in becoming part of the Confirmation Class at CCAV. We offer the class by request. Currently we have a class meeting and youth interested may join this study group. Pentecost Sunday, May 15, 2016 is the date we are looking toward for Confirmation Sunday.

Once a Month — First Sundays Discussion with Pastor— at 10:30 a.m. (after Coffee Hour)

You are invited to gather with Pastor Michele for about an hour of study/discussion. We are discussing a "collection of inspiring credos by William Sloane Coffin [that] melds Christian spirit with social justice." Please join us to discuss Credo .

Credo - A book of excerpts and quotations from the life and work of William Sloane Coffin

"Coffin offers this record of his inspiring public words on issues ranging from charity and justice, politics, economic issues, the environment, nuclear disarmament, and mortality to the meaning of faith, the church, and a pastor’s responsibility. These brief quotations and excerpts demonstrate the wit, fire, and passion he brought to the task of preaching and the moral commitment he has made to change the world."

50th Anniversary Celebration
A Huge Success

Dear Members and Friends.

Thank you! Thank you! To each and every one of you who helped to make the 50th anniversary weekend such a special one! That includes those of you who helped tirelessly before, during, and after – or in many cases, all three! It also includes those of you who went to one, two, or three of the special festivities and helped to make the weekend so memorable for all of us.

It was a perfect weekend, and it could not have been if it wasn’t for each one of you. I heard from so many people I encountered over the weekend that we have something very special here at CCAV – something no one has yet to experience anywhere else. WE make it that way, and I am blessed to be a part of this very special church. Thank you for being a part of my church family.

~Debbie Bemis, 2015 Moderator

If you want a 50th anniversary book, please be sure to let me know. There are a few left, and I want to make sure everyone who wants one has it.
